Exports from the Ñuble region totaled US$ 119.7 million last February, which represented an increase of 56.3% compared to the same month in 2023, according to the INE.

As in January, a month that also showed a positive variation following 21 consecutive months of declines, the greater dynamism of shipments is attributed to the recovery of pulp shipments.

According to the INE, the increase in exports was mainly due to the Industry sector, which with US$80.3 million, showed a year-on-year increase of 168%. In this sector, the food branch totaled shipments of US$34.8 million, a value that increased 50.7% in 12 months; The forestry branch, which includes wood shipments, totaled US13.4 million, showing a growth of 265% compared to February 2023; Meanwhile, the rest of the industry, with US$32.1 million, which includes pulp, showed a year-on-year increase of 906%.

On the other hand, the Forestry and Agricultural sector added shipments of US$39.1 million, presenting a year-on-year drop of 7.3%. In this sector, the fruit growing branch, which totaled exports of US$37.4 million, registered an interannual growth of 62.4%; while the agriculture branch, with shipments of 700 thousand dollars, fell 96.8%. The rest of forestry and agricultural products, with a total of US$1 million, recorded an increase of 26.7%.

With the February data, Ñuble shipments in the first two months of the year total US$220.6 million, which is equivalent to an increase of 34.5% compared to the same period in 2023.
