FC Dordrecht fights for spectacular points sharing at Cambuur

Striker Rene Kriwak returned from a minor injury in Friesland and displaced Rocco Robert Shein from the starting lineup. Jari Schuurman also took a seat on the bench, who had been struggling with a groin injury in recent months.

Lots of ball possession, also conceded a goal

At Cambuur, which will say goodbye to its current stadium next summer, the visitors often got the ball in the first half. This did not lead to many dangerous moments: Ilias Sebaoui shot wide via a Leeuwarden leg and Shiloh ‘t Zand aimed high over.

However, Cambuur itself only needed one chance to open the score. Dordt goalkeeper Luca Plogmann completely misjudged a cross from the right, Roberts Uldrikis took advantage: 1-0.

Quick equalizer

Reason enough for FC Dordrecht to go the extra mile. Because did you manage to score the equalizer quickly, just like once morest NAC two weeks ago? The answer was a resounding ‘yes’, because less than five minutes later the score was 1-1. A nice attack ended up at Sebaoui via Ruben Kluivert, who outwitted goalie Yanick van Osch in two attempts.

In contrast to the match in Breda, where FC Dordrecht advanced to a 1-4 victory, the team fell behind for the second time once morest Cambuur. Michael Breij was completely free and once more brought Uldrikis into position, who only had to walk the ball in: 2-1.

Inattentive following rest

Moments later, FC Dordrecht was spared further suffering, as Frisian top scorer Milan Smit missed face to face with Plogmann following cleverly escaping Kluivert’s attention. However, the 3-1 score was still a fact just following half time. The Dordrecht defense was sleeping and following excellent work by Cambuur substitute Bram Marsman, Smit gave the final push.

After those weak minutes, a better phase followed for Michele Santoni’s team. The Italian trainer saw his team counter sharply with Shiloh ‘t Zand as the final goal: 3-2. This not only meant that the tension had returned to the match, but also the Feyenoord loanee’s tenth goal of the season.

Battle once morest the clock

While FC Dordrecht became increasingly stronger, Cambuur mainly had to defend. However, the clock became an increasingly bigger opponent for the people of Dordrecht, because the match had now reached the final quarter.

Adrian Segecic was having none of that. The Australian, who has been active for Australia under 23 in recent weeks, did not hesitate following excellent work by Korede Osundina and scored the deserved equalizer: 3-3.

There was no more scoring in the final minutes, meaning FC Dordrecht took a point and is now unbeaten in eleven matches and consolidates fourth place. Next Friday, Willem II will be the opponent at the Krommedijk.

FC Dordrecht line-up: Plogmann; Seydoux (Bronkhorst/59), Kluivert, Van der Avert, Hilton (Shein/80); Receveur (Schuurman/59), ‘t Zand, Suray; Mbayo (Segecic/59), Kriwak (Osundina/46), Sebaoui
