From this year, thousands of professionals will be faced with a tax increase of even 100% due to the presumptive way they are taxed.

AADE published the average annual turnover yesterday who declared in last year’s tax declarations 379 professional branches that will be taxed this year with the new presumptive regime and the data resulting from the list, show large discrepancies.

Lawyers, realtors, hairdressers, plumbers and architects declare an annual gross income of up to 30,000 euros.
Doctors (46,640 euros), bar owners (37,777 euros), carpenters (32,913 euros) and electricians (32,635 euros) declared a turnover of more than 30,000.

In the opposite with higher annual turnovers there are 198 taxpayers operating in wholesale trade of tobacco products with an average annual turnover of 1,295,860 euros and in fuel retail trade with an average annual turnover of 772,275 euros.

THE average turnover constitutes one of the criteria taken into account by the Tax Office to determine the minimum presumptive income. The other two criteria are years of professional activity and total payroll.

For example, the tax operatorsThey declared gross income for 2022 at an average of 16,281 euros. According to president of the Association of Taxi Owners of Patras and Surroundings Giorgos Sideris, the presumptive taxable income for young professionals is 10,900 euros and for old ones with three years of experience around 14,000. This amount translates into net tax together with the advance to 2,800 – 3,200 euros, up from 1,000 – 1,500 euros paid by industry professionals until last year, when they also declared expenses.
