The Indonesian men’s team started their opening match in the 2024 Thomas Cup smoothly. Facing England in the first match of Group C at the Chengdu Hi Tech Zone Sports Center Gymnasium, Chengdu, China, Saturday (27/4) evening, Indonesia won 5-0.
Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, who played in the first match, contributed points. Ginting easily won once morest Harry Huang with 21-8, 21-15.
Indonesia’s winnings increased. Mainstay in the men’s doubles sector is Fajar Alrian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto. They got past Ben Lane/Sean Vendy in two straight games 21-18, 21-12.

“Today once more, every first match will not be easy. There will definitely be adjustments,” said Jonathan.
“Talking regarding today’s opponent, I’ve tried looking for videos of his matches but I haven’t found many, so the way he plays, his strengths are very vague. I was quite surprised by how fast his game was and how good his attacks were,” he added.
In the fourth match, the pair Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri defeated Callum Hemming/Ethan Van Leuween’s resistance through a rubber game 16-21, 21-14, 21-13.
