1,000 malaria screening kits from Maurel & Prom Gabon in Port-Gentillais –

“Accelerating the fight once morest malaria for a more equitable world” is the theme chosen for World Malaria Day. In its corporate social responsibility (CSR), Maurel & Prom Gabon went to provide assistance to the maternal child protection (PMI) health unit of the social center located in 2e district of Port-Gentil. An action which demonstrates its desire to support the Gabonese authorities in the fight once morest this global scourge.

“I would like to once once more salute the valuable collaboration of the company Maurel & Prom Gabon, which supports us in the fight once morest malaria”declared Raïssa Claire Goulengou wife Johnson, regional director of maritime zone health.

This support from the corporate citizen is essentially composed of “1,000 individual screening kits, 300 impregnated mosquito nets and anti-malarial drugs”.

It will be given in the coming days to vulnerable people in particular; pregnant women, children under 5 years old and the elderly. It aims to offer the populations of Port-Gentil optimal health through adequate protection.

With a population of nearly two million inhabitants in 2023 in Gabon, the authorities have recorded more than 120,000 cases or 56 cases per 1,000 inhabitants. A significant number which testifies to the real presence in Gabon of this disease in this tropical country of Central Africa.

“We wanted to join forces with the efforts made by the authorities to participate in a very modest way in this action to fight once morest this scourge which threatens our families in Port-Gentil,” explained Myriam Agamboue-Baeta, head of the hygiene department. , health, safety and security of the oil company.
