General of the Congolese army Eddy Kapend is currently in the arms of Congolese justice by consistent sources. From Haut-Katanga where he exercises his ministry, this former close friend of M’zee Laurent Désiré Kabila is announced to be transferred to Kinshasa following his arrest.
However, reliable sources indicate that General Eddy Kapend is indeed at liberty. He was neither arrested nor transferred to Kinshasa by the courts. One thing is certain: Eddy Kapend is on a service mission in the capital, and it will not be long before he returns to Lubumbashi.
According to those close to Eddy Kapend, the latter currently in Kinshasa will return to Lubumbashi next Monday in complete freedom. There is therefore no break in the relationship between this big name in the Congolese army and the head of state Félix Tshisekedi.
“We regret the false rumors which are gaining ground, because Eddy Kapend is in no way the subject of legal proceedings. We assure you that relations between the latter and the first Congolese citizen are in good shape as always, and things are not ready to change today. People who say the opposite are lying,” say those close to Eddy Kapend.
Regarding Eddy Kapend’s mission in Kinshasa, his belt specified that it had no right to reveal to the press the purpose of his coming to the capital, because, she said, it was a mission top secret state.
“Eddy Kapend is in Kinshasa on state affairs but unfortunately this cannot be revealed to you. These are sensitive issues for the life of the nation, because we are talking regarding the security of the country,” they stressed.
