ready to enter Rafah –

Crucial moment of the war in Gaza. The Israeli army is in fact ready to immediately launch an operation in Rafah and is only waiting for the political green light. A senior security official made this known to Reuters. Israeli security forces are preparing to begin the ground operation in Rafah “very soon,” starting with a massive evacuation of more than a million Palestinians. Over the next four or five weeks, Palestinians will have to evacuate to tent compounds set up by international humanitarian organizations. The plan for the Rafah operation was presented to American officials and other agencies in the region. According to the plan, the operation will proceed in phases, based on a regional division of Gaza city into defined areas. At each stage, the IDF will inform the local population before advancing into each area so that civilians can evacuate before the IDF moves forward.

Today the Jewish forces announced that they have recruited two reserve brigades to continue the defense and attack mission in the Gaza Strip under the command of the 99 Division. The 2nd Reserve Brigade of the 146th Division and the 679th Reserve Brigade of the 210th Division they will be transferred from northern Israel, on the border with Lebanon, to the Gaza Strip. The US government has expressed strong opposition to an operation in Rafah without a credible plan to protect civilians. During the preparations, government officials continue to discuss potential changes by Israel in the hostage deal negotiations to ensure the agreement with Hamas advances.
