THE Golkar PARTY is reluctant to speculate regarding President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) joining. The reason is, Jokowi has not stated directly that he has left the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP).
“We also don’t want to be confused, maybe it’s still PDIP, so it all depends on Pak Jokowi,” said Golkar Party Deputy Chairperson Ahmad Doli Kurnia, at the State Secretariat Ministry Complex (Kemensetneg), Central Jakarta, Thursday, April 25 2024.
Doli admitted that so far the internal Golkar Party has not discussed the opportunity for Jokowi to join. The reason is, the Golkar Party respects the sovereignty of each party.
“We don’t want to interfere with the policies adopted by other political parties,” he explained.
However, Doli ensured that his party was open to anyone who wanted to join. As long as you have the same aspirations and goals.
“Never mind a president, ordinary people join Golkar, we are extremely happy,” he concluded.

Previously, Chairman of the Honorary Division of the PDIP DPP, Komarudin Watubun, said that Jokowi was not part of the PDIP. This is because Jokowi’s attitude in the Presidential Election (Pilpres) is considered different from PDIP.
“Ah, people are already over there, how can you say they are still part of the PDI Perjuangan? That’s true,” said Komarudin to reporters, Monday 22 April 2024.
Meanwhile, President Jokowi responded casually to PDIP’s opinion. Jokowi even expressed his thanks.
