On April 23, 2024, two horses escaped and ran freely in central London, causing disturbance to residents and drivers. The horses, wearing saddles and bridles, were first seen near Aldwych in the morning.
Photos on social media show two horses, one white and covered in blood and the other black, galloping down a boulevard in Londonpassing a scooter and at one point seeming to crash into a taxi following crossing a red light.

Skynews reports that the horses belong to the Royal Household Cavalry.
The horses appear to have broken free from their riders and started running across central London, one of which appears in the footage to be covered in blood.
Five people were injured in the incident, with the information being confused, however, as to whether it was only the horse riders or the occupants of passing vehicles that the animals ran into.

An army spokesman said the horses were lost during a routine exercise and have now returned to camp and are receiving medical attention.
“Around 8.40am, we were called regarding horses that had gone missing and were traveling through the town,” he said in a statement.
