When DIM fans go to see their team this term, they have hardly been able to predict what they will find, either the team that reached the final of the previous league or the one that is struggling to get into the top eight.
This Thursday they found themselves in a very clear version of red, at least for 60 minutes of the game. Within a minute of play, they already beat the Argentinian team of Defensa y Justicia 1-0, for date 3 in the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana.
This goal by Brayan León, following a cross from Jhon Vásquez and which many fans missed because they were just sitting in the stands, served to make Poderoso loose and, in the first minutes of the match, led by Miguel Monsalve, delighted the fans his.
The good game got another reward and it was in the 22nd minute when León fought for a ball in the area and passed it to Monsalve for him to define in front of goal.
With the score 2-0, the scarlet team withdrew and waited for Defensa y Justicia, who tried to find a discount, but in the risky actions, goalkeeper Éder Chaux was attentive to keep the goal blank in the first half. In the stands everything was a party, with chants throughout the game, the fans doing their job, as well as the attitude of coach Alfredo Arias, who was constantly on the line giving instructions to his team.
In the second half, DIM might not keep up the momentum and Defensa y Justicia had to go out looking for an equalizer and it was enough for them to score in the 76th minute through Nicolás Palavecino. That 2-1 scoreline brought back the second version of DIM, nerves and mistakes. However, they eventually picked up a win that puts them second in their group behind Always Ready, who defeated César Vallejo 2-0. But the win also helps the Reds arrive with oxygen for Sunday’s duel (17:00) once morest Envigado, where they will try to qualify for the semi-finals at home in the league.
