His story

The specialist acquired a fascination for Chinese culture from home, as his grandfather was from that country, and although he did not know him, his mother inherited the desire to learn more regarding that side of her family, first with food and many years later with medicine.

He studied the career of veterinarian in University of Veracruz (UV), then he accidentally went to UNAM to take a course, it was there that he found academics doing research on acupuncture points, together with a China specialist.

Taking courses in this technique in the 1980s was very difficult, he adds veterinariansince it was just beginning to be known on the American continent, it was difficult to meet specialists or obtain books on the subject in Spanish.

In 1985, the National Polytechnic Institute inaugurated the career of traditional medicine China, Campos Lee enrolled in all the courses from different specialists and gained more knowledge there. “Cost me a lot of work. First, because I was a beginner, I did not have much practice, because there was no Chinese medicine degree in veterinary medicine, nor is there any internship program. The knowledge I had was minimal, and I started practicing, he says.

How do you perform the treatment?

In his years of experience, the doctor has worked with different species, but the care method is the same. When an animal comes to your office for the first time, it must undergo a check-up to detect the symptoms it has.

“The consultation for the first time takes regarding one and a half to two hours. Because a very thorough medical history is taken, the symptoms that the owner sees in their pet are seen and a number of questions arise, such as what is the dog’s character and temperament? If you are afraid of noise and what kind of noise, if you are afraid of people. All this leads me to a series of questions to find out how he feels, he explains.
