Admirers of Cowboys Fringants and their late singer were shocked by the testament album that the group released Thursday as a thank you and goodbye.
“It’s a life lesson, and I think it’s also the end of a life, the end of a hope, a goodbye from Karl in most of the songs. It also marks the end of the Cowboys Fringants group unfortunately,” confided Patrice Belhache Renier, one of the group’s fans.
On this album, released on all digital platforms Thursday at midnight, there are 13 songs.
“It’s remarkable, there are few people who will have had the chance and the courage to be able to sign the end openly in the public eye, we often don’t have this opportunity, he [Karl] he was able to see it coming, plan, foresee and make such an elegant, strong, important, inspiring outing,” added Louis Bellavance, director of programming at the Festival d’été de Québec (FEQ).
As soon as it was released, the album provoked many reactions, tears and caused a lot of ink to flow among admirers.
“I cried a lot today, I think I listened to the album four or five times during the day, and there are songs that I still have difficulty understanding and listening to. The emotion still takes over the simple pleasure of listening for the moment,” said Sébastien Quérel, another fan of the group, with emotion.
If admirers of Cowboys Fringants and Karl Tremblay will have to wait until May 10 to hold the album in their hands, there is no doubt for some that it will make history.
“It’s full of emotion, especially when we know Karl, when we know the whole family behind it, it’s going to be a magnificent album that will go down in history,” assured Christian Noël, director of programming at the Grand Quebec theater.
Certain songs were written to thank the public, present from the very beginning, and with whom they seem to be unanimously appreciated.
“Saying a final goodbye to Karl. There is the song “Thank you bin!”, which is a superb goodbye that the group gives to their fans, it’s really a beautiful gift that they give us, and then I think that all the fans must be satisfied with this album,” Gabriel Béland, another admirer.
