A middle-aged man was found dead in an apartment unit in the Tebet area, South Jakarta. The victim was found in a decomposing condition. Tebet Police Chief Murodih said the victim with the initials W (52) was found on Monday (22/4) evening. The discovery of the body was revealed following one of the apartment residents in another unit complained regarding the strong smell.
“At the start of the incident at around 13.31 WIB and 16.29 WIB there were complaints from apartment residents regarding the strong smell,” said Murodih when contacted, Tuesday (23/4).
When investigated, a strong smell came from the victim’s room. When he checked inside, the victim was lying lifeless on the sofa in a rotting condition.
“The occupant (victim) was sitting and reclining on the sofa and the smell was very strong. Due to this incident, an investigation was carried out for further action,” he said.
Murodih said information from the family stated that the victim had a history of high blood pressure. Until now, the police are still investigating the exact cause of the victim’s death.
“Initial information from the family was that they had high blood pressure. There were no wounds found on the victim’s entire body due to violence. Only peeling skin was found on the right and left knees,” he said. (Z-11)
