PDMA has issued an alert regarding the forecast of stormy rains in Punjab during the days of Eid-ul-Fitr.
In the alert issued by DG PDMA, it is stated that there are chances of heavy rains on Eid-ul-Fitr. From 10th to 15th April there may be intermittent thundershowers while from 10th to 15th April there are chances of rain in Murree, Guliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock and Chakwal.
Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, DG Khan, Multan and Sahiwal divisions will experience rains from April 12. The districts of Bahawalpur division will also be under heavy rains.
The forecast further states that there are chances of hailstorm in different areas of the province. Citizens must keep the weather conditions in mind while preparing for Eid al-Fitr. Be sure to know the latest weather forecast for Eid holidays and keep the necessary equipment before traveling to the hilly areas.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority has issued instructions to the rescue teams and the district administration to remain alert during the Eid holidays, saying that all possible facilities should be provided to the tourists in case of bad weather.
In this regard, the Commissioners, DCs and Irrigation Department have also been informed regarding the weather situation. Citizens should contact PDMA’s helpline 1129 in case of any emergency.
