Tomasz Englert achieved great success in his professional life, only to then quit his job
As a child, Tomasz Englert occasionally accompanied his parents to film and theater premieres, but he did not catch the bug and did not commit his future to the industry. Being a very young man, he achieved considerable professional success. In an interview for “Gala” magazine, he said that at the age of only 25, he became the head of a company that he brought to such a development that it became one of the largest media houses in Poland. Despite significant earnings and the opportunity to enjoy luxuries – expensive cars or the best real estate – following a dozen or so years, a crisis occurred. It was then that Tomasz decided to make a change in his life. In 2014, at the age of 40, he quit his job. In an interview he shared the following reflection:
I don’t have children, I have a lot of money, more than I need. I have no one to earn it for and many things haven’t happened to me yet, because years when others were having fun, I was working. I realized that if I continued living like this, I would die a rich but unhappy man who didn’t really know why he was doing it all.
– he announced publicly in 2014.
Jan Englert then offered him a job as a photographer in the theater of which he was the director. He was encouraged by Beata Ścibakówna, who collaborated with him on one of the performances. Tomasz accepted the offer. He also started a family, and his daughter Lena appeared. However, the relationship with his beloved quickly fell apart. Tomasz will be 54 this year and as he ages, he looks more and more like his father. The similarity is striking.
