THE Central Executive Board of the Interfaith Brotherhood Agency (BERANI) appointed regional administrators for the Special Region of Jakarta. The Banom Organization of the National Awakening Party (PKB) was attended by the PKB DPP Management, Daniel Johan, Secretary of the Jakarta PKB DPW, Muhamad Fauzi.
The chairman of the BERANI DPP, Lorens Manuputty, gave a speech by highlighting the three crises that occurred in Indonesia. For Laurens, Indonesia has now experienced the most dangerous crisis, namely the ideological crisis for the millennial generation and Generation Z. The crisis in question is the beginning to fade the spirit of nationalism, especially in the culture that exists in everyday life.
“Indonesia has experienced three crises, economic, political and ideological crises. This crisis is now starting to reach young people in Indonesia,” said Lorens in the KTC Mall Multipurpose Hall, North Jakarta, Thursday (18/4).
Lorens said that this ideological crisis is most prevalent among young people in big cities, including Jakarta. So, according to Laurens, it is important to have BERANI in Jakarta so that it can dispel the ideological culture of non-empathy, intolerance and indifference towards fellow citizens. BERANI’s presence in Jakarta serves as a filtering function and fosters a spirit of mutual cooperation among religious beings.
The inauguration procession for the BERANI Jakarta DPW management began with the reading of the Decree on the composition of the BERANI Jakarta management by the Secretary General of the BERANI DPP, Ardy Susanto. Secretary General Ardy read the election by acclamation, namely the chairman of BERANI Jakarta, Pastor Rinto Langitan.
Rinto expressed his gratitude for being given the opportunity to serve as chairman of the Jakarta region. He said BERANI as Banom from PKB provides opportunities for non-Muslims to join and be given organizational space.

“Right now I am surprised because there are parties that hold Christmas in the DPR, only PKB does that. I was especially touched when I met with the Chairman of DPW PKB, Kyai Hasbi, who told me regarding Gusdur as the father of tolerance in Indonesia,” he explained.
Rinto hopes that the BERANI management in Jakarta will act as a mediator in inter-religious relations. Regarding permits for places of worship which are experiencing problems, he hopes that BERANI administrators can be at the forefront of community advocacy.
The inauguration closed with a joint prayer from the six religious leaders present Suhu Duta Praba Sthavira representing Buddhists, Ust. M. Ridwan from Islam, Ketut Wartika from Hinduism, Confucianism represented by Js. Ruysya Supit, Rev. Rismanto Tobing from Christianity. (Z-8)
