The journalist Rodrigo Sepúlveda, responded to the criticism he received this week following crying live while reporting news regarding a robbery at a Huevos Catalán store, since he knew the owners.
After breaking down on the screen, Sepúlveda mentioned that “I am very sad, huón (sic), I am very fond of them.”. I know the sacrifice they have, so this kills me.”
The moment unleashed a wave of criticism, where viewers claimed it was unprofessional. Given this, this Wednesday the communicator responded to a comment left on Instagram.
“Sepu, it’s very bad that you got excited yesterday regarding what happened to the egg company because they were robbed, that doesn’t belong to you,” the message said.
Rodrigo Sepúlveda’s response
“I’m going to get excited because I’m a human being, I feel things.“I’m passionate regarding my job, I just want a happy country and because I met the people who worked there,” he initially said.
“If you want to go watch newscasts where they only read a lead and they present notes, go watch 99% of the news programs there are and you have every right to change the channel. But if you want to watch this show, here you will find information, opinion, madness, laughter, entertainment, passion and team,” he added.
Likewise, the journalist assured that “I am like that (…) I am not going to change my personality. Things excite me and the news reaches me, it doesn’t let me down.”
Finally, he invited viewers to change the channel if his way of reporting bothered them. “So, If you want to see, with all the right in the world, newscasts where they only present notes and sometimes it doesn’t even matter that they hit a woman, that there is rape, that there is robbery, compadre, grab this (remote control) and change“, he concluded.
