Will the moon of Eid-ul-Fitr be visible or not? Astronomer told

The meeting of the central Sighting Hilal Committee regarding the sighting of the Eid-ul-Fitr moon is going to start today and the biggest question in the minds of all Pakistanis at this time is whether the moon will be seen today or not.

Astronomer Dr. Javed Iqbal while talking to private TV said that the age of the moon is 19 hours 30 minutes, so due to its short age, the moon is quite thin.

He said that the position of the moon is quite good, it is currently at 10 (altitude) and the period of the moon is also around 50 minutes.

He said that our prediction is that the moon is likely to be seen where the sky is clear and the weather is clear.

Dr. Javed Iqbal said that in the northern regions of the country, the forecast is cloudy in most areas, but the sky is clear in the southern regions of Lower Sindh such as Badin, Tharparkar and Balochistan, so the moon is likely to be seen there.

He said that the hope is that the moon will be visible today and Eid will be tomorrow.

Regarding the moon not being visible in Saudi Arabia yesterday and celebrating Eid together in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, he said that the moon had risen yesterday at 11:20 a.m. Pakistani time, so the sun must have set in Saudi Arabia yesterday. So the moon will not have been born till that time.

He said that there was a solar eclipse yesterday in North America, so the moon was towards America at 11:20, so it was not possible to see it in Saudi Arabia, and Saudi Arabia has announced that they are fasting today, so astronomical It is absolutely correct that Eid should be celebrated in both countries on the same day.

On the question regarding the release of the moon calendar, he said that sometimes, like Ramadan, we might clearly tell when the first fast will be, but today’s moon is also related to the weather conditions, so if informed. It will be visible if it is clean.

He said that sometimes there is a 50-50 chance of the moon being visible or not, it will be visible only through binoculars, every time the situation is different, so there are chances of making a mistake in making the calendar.
