Woman brings ‘dead’ uncle for loan, bank administration upset – World

A Brazilian woman took her “dead uncle” to the bank to get a loan, however, the police arrested him from the bank and sent him to jail.

On Tuesday morning, a woman named Erica de Souza Vera Nunes allegedly brought an elderly man in a wheelchair to a bank in Rio de Janeiro, needing a co-signer to get a loan.

In the video that emerged in this regard, it can be seen that Erica was sitting on a chair next to the deceased and was apparently holding her uncle’s bowed head.

According to the video, Erika spoke to the dead man, addressing him as “Uncle” and asking him to sign financial documents that would allow her to take out a $3,400 loan.

Police said they would look into the circumstances of Braga’s death and try to determine if Erika was in fact her niece, and if other relatives were involved in the alleged bank fraud attempt.

Erica might face charges of fraud, embezzlement, and theft by abuse of a corpse.
