A series of works are inaugurated in the indigenous community of Capitán Bado

Asunción, IP Agency.- On the occasion of American Native American Day, the Jasukavenda community, from the village of Pai Tavyterã, in the district of Capitán Bado, department of Amambay, received important works to substantially improve the quality of life of their families.

The day before, residential homes from the Ministry of Urban Planning, Housing and Habitat were inaugurated for the benefit of 73 families, a drinking water system installed by Itaipu Binacional and 4,000 meters of electrical energy extension, in charge of the National Electricity Administration (ANDE). .

Likewise, the head of the Paraguayan Indigenous Institute (INDI) Marlene Ocampos held a series of hearings with indigenous leaders from more than 15 communities in the Captain Bado district. In that sense, each of the indigenous representatives was able to put their concerns and the needs of their respective communities on the table.

The delivery of these works on American Aboriginal Day not only reaffirms the Government’s commitment to this sector, but also symbolizes a step forward in the fight for the rights and progress of these communities.

INDI reiterates its mission to continue working for justice, respect and inclusion of indigenous peoples in all spheres of national life.
