The President of the Union for the Congolese Nation, Vital Kamerhe will be the candidate of the Sacred Union for the presidency of the final office of the National Assembly, following winning the primaries organized by this platform.
Before and following this primary election, the former Chief of Staff of the Head of State reiterated his loyalty to Félix Tshisekedi and his political family, Sacred Union of the Nation.
“I reiterate my loyalty to the President of the Republic and to my political family, the sacred union of the nation. At the same time I would like to thank my friends who believed in me before anyone else. The only word is to say that we must work to raise the image and values of our country. Our country is at the heart of the energy transition,” he declared.
The one who will surely be the next president of the National Assembly, legislature 2024-2028, promised to support President Félix Tshisekedi within the framework of the separation of powers.
“We will support the President of the Republic within the framework of the separation of powers and within the framework of inter-institutional collaboration. We will push the members of the government to give the best of themselves through parliamentary control,” promised the leader of the UNC.
In the final results, Vital Kamerhe won this primary election with 183 deputies, followed by Christophe Mboso, 113 votes. The third candidate, Modeste Bahati obtained only 69 votes, out of a total of 372 voters.
