In the first 100 days of Bernardo Arévalo’s term, six topics dominated conversations on social networks around the president, Vice President Karin Herrera and the new government.

On January 15, the inauguration was the highest peak of this period achieving a total reach of 96 million. The most mentioned related topics were the new president, the victory obtained, the visit of the Colombian president Gustavo Petro and various congratulatory messages to Arévalo.

The messages and interactions were also based on comments of support, celebration and around the other international visitors who came for the inauguration.

Four days later, on January 19, the president requested to hold a working meeting with the Head of the Public Ministry (MP), Consuelo Porras, in the presidential office to learn details regarding criminal proceedings linked to decisions of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. (IACHR), criminal prosecution criteria in cases of freedom of expression and press, investigation into the purchase of vaccines for covid-19 and the protocol for action in the face of precautionary measures from the IACHR.

The election of deputy Nery Ramos from the Blue bench as president of Congress was also part of the conversations. As well as the reform of the agreement that former president Alejando Giammattei signed days before leaving office which provided state security to his former officials. This day the publications regarding it reached seven million in reach.

On January 24, a peak of interaction was once more generated regarding the Attorney General because in a press conference Arévalo said that he would summon Porras to go to the Council of Ministers.
