Saudi Arabia – The Saudi Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Khatib, confirmed that foreign tourists come to the Kingdom to explore its culture, for work and entertainment, or for religious reasons, and “they do not complain regarding the lack of alcohol.”
Al-Khatib added in a statement, “People will come to learn regarding Saudi culture, for work, for entertainment, or for religious reasons, and they will enjoy the food, retail, and local hospitality we offer.”
A tweeter commented on the statements of the Saudi Minister of Tourism, saying: “Whoever says tourism without alcohol will not succeed, only sees himself because he travels because the experience is special for every tourist who lives without alcohol, and most important of all is our youth who mature and grow up without drinking alcohol.” Alcohol is a malignant disease, and no one wants to introduce the disease into his body.”
The Chairman of the Executive Council of the United Nations Tourism Organization, the Saudi Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Khatib, participated in a high-level event held by the United Nations General Assembly, during which it highlighted the importance of the tourism sector to the economies of countries, a few days ago.
He said during a speech before the General Assembly, “Saudi Arabia has become one of the most promising and most attractive tourist destinations for tourists in the world. It topped the United Nations World Tourism List in terms of growth in the number of international tourists in 2023.”
He added: “The tourism sector in the Kingdom is growing by 55% and our interest is focused on its environmental sustainability.”
