D. Šakalienė explained why she used hundreds of souvenirs from the Seimas warehouse

“Skaidrinam” initiator Andrius Tapinas this week announced Names of members of the Seimas who took the most goods and souvenirs from the parliamentary warehouse for parliamentary funds.

The member of the Seimas National Security and Defense Committee (NSGK), social democrat D. Šakalienė is probably at the top of the list.

According to A. Tapina, the main items taken by the parliamentarian are the following: 2.7 thousand pens and pencils, 596 packs of coffee, 503 sets of sweets, 458 drinking glasses and cups, 146 backpacks, 38 balls, 30 ties, 22 amber bracelets, 16 blankets, 14 jumpers and seven wireless speakers.

“No problem”

15min contacted the politician on Wednesday and asked what she used the souvenirs taken from the Seimas warehouse. After hearing the question, the MP stated that she did not want to “comment on this for the record, because there is no problem here.”

Asked if there is no problem here, maybe then she might tell, she claimed “I can’t comment on the record, and if not, then I really don’t see the point of talking regarding it on the record.”

We will not publish the further conversation with D. Šakaliene, as the politician asked not to do so due to problems related to her health. After the interview, she sent a written comment.
