This Sunday, April 21, a march is taking place in the city of Medellín with three starting points which were scheduled for 10:00 in the morning.
The meeting points are Avenida Oriental with La Playa, the Estadio del Metro station and El Poblado park.
The march will conclude in the Las Luces park, near La Alpujarra, in the Center of Medellín, where a final rally will be held.
Public order
The call, known as the “March of the White Coats”, is not only aimed at the health sector, but also at citizens dissatisfied with the positions of President Gustavo Petro.
Those who, through this march, seek to express discontent once morest Petro’s government and demand that the Congress of the Republic initiate a political trial for the alleged violation of campaign limits during his presidential candidacy.
The Medical College of Antioquia will join the march, starting its concentration in El Poblado park and continuing the journey towards the city center. Their participation focuses on defending patients’ right to health, dignity, and fair working conditions and remuneration for health professionals.
The authorities have a security device that will guarantee the development of the day.
These marches are scheduled to end around 2:00 in the followingnoon.
The PMU of the District Mayor’s Office will be active 24 hours a day to attend to any eventuality during the march.
