Gaza – Some residents of the besieged city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip expressed their belief that the Israeli strike on Iran that took place on Friday was nothing more than a show operation.
Alaa Abu Taha, a resident of Rafah, told Agence France-Presse: Everyone knows that this was all planned and agreed upon in advance between the two sides. Adding that if a party wants to launch a real strike, it does not issue prior warnings or issue threats before that.
Iran announced that explosions occurred in the center of the country early Friday, while senior American officials spoke of an Israeli attack in response to the Iranian attack on Israel with marches and missiles last weekend.
These developments come at a time when Israel threatened to respond to the Iranian attack.
Israel said that it and its allies intercepted almost all of the marches and missiles launched by Iran, which amounted to regarding 350, threatening that the Iranian attack would not go “without punishment.”
In turn, Iyad Labad, a resident of Rafah, ruled out “anything happening” following the exchange of strikes, adding, “There will be no regional war.” “This is just a show.”
He continued that Iran struck “empty areas” in Israel, which in turn chose to “retaliate by striking empty areas” in Iran.
He said, “This war between Iran and Israel will stop soon,” adding, “This is all for nothing.”
