National cricketers termed the Kakul fitness camp as a memorable one

The Kakul fitness camp organized for the Pakistan cricket team has concluded, the national players will leave for Islamabad today, Babar Azam says the camp will benefit the team’s fitness and unity.

The Kakul fitness camp for Pakistan cricket team players started on March 26, the camp focused on physical fitness and strength of the players.

Talking at the end of the camp, Babar Azam said that he is a part of training in Kakul camp for the third time, every time he came he learned something, the main purpose of this camp was unity in the team and a lot of work was done on it.

He said that since the T20 once morest New Zealand and the upcoming World Cup, we had very little time to focus on physical fitness, following this camp we will not worry regarding physical fitness.

The captain said that even during the fast, the players trained and tried to improve, this camp is also different because there was no cricket in it, only physical fitness, speed, movement and strength were worked on.

Moreover, all-rounder Shadab Khan said that there is no doubt that all the cricketers will come back with better fitness level and quality which will play a significant role when they take to the field in the upcoming challenges.

He said that this fitness camp was very important before the World Cup, the more fit the players are, the team will benefit, through the camp the players got a chance to understand each other.

Imad Wasim, who joined the camp following retiring from international cricket and announced his availability for the national team following a meeting with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials, said the training was different from normal cricket training. Different but very effective, the Army trainers have worked hard on the fitness of the players.

Emad said that this camp was important from the point of view of team unity.

Fast bowler Naseem Shah hoped that following the Kakul camp, he would come back as a fitter and more professional player.

Apart from this, Azam Khan said that the camp was tough because of the altitude but it was worth it, reaching the top of the mountain was a unique experience that will be remembered forever.

Earlier, a video was released by the Pakistan Cricket Board in which the players are participating in the physical training camp of the cricketers, while other cricketers including Azam Khan are trying to reach the top of the mountain by lifting heavy stones.

It should be noted that New Zealand will visit Pakistan for a 5-match T20 series on April 14.

Both teams will play 3 T20 matches at Pindi Cricket Stadium Rawalpindi on April 18, 20 and 21. After that, the last two T20 matches (on April 25 and 27) will be played in Lahore.

According to sources, the Pakistan squad will be announced on April 8, while the New Zealand cricket squad has been announced.
