The Bracco group starts direct activity in Japan, a country where it has been present for over 30 years, thanks to the joint venture with Eisai. For the diagnostic imaging company, Japan is a strategic market for two reasons: the very advanced average age of the population and the widespread culture of prevention, supported by the public health system.
From this month the Bracco group begins to operate directly on the Japanese market through the newly formed Bracco Japan which has gradually taken the place of Bracco Eisai, the joint venture founded in 1990 and which has undergone two renewals.
Diana Bracco, president and CEO of the Bracco group, explains that “the collaboration has been a long journey undertaken together that has brought great results”, in a letter sent to the President of Eisai Haruo Naito. «A journey during which we wisely respected the distinct cultures of our two countries».

The entrepreneur explains that Japan «represents a strategic market for us, both for the high average age of the population and for the widespread culture of prevention present throughout the country and supported by a highly advanced healthcare system, particularly in the field of diagnostic imaging. A market that will grow very rapidly as well as that of the entire Asia-Pacific region.” Through Bracco Japan, the group will therefore strengthen «a historic presence to better satisfy the needs of local doctors and patients by providing increasingly cutting-edge contrast agents, technologies and diagnostic imaging services, integrating our offer also with injectors and other products from our ACIST Japan”.
After completing the transfer of Bracco EISAI activities to the new company Bracco Japan, the helm will be in the hands of Tetsuaki Sakamoto who will manage a new independent path both as a manufacturer and distributor of contrast media. «Our work, however, will not be limited to this – states Fulvio Renoldi Bracco -.
