Why shut down social media platform X, Govt finally submits answer – Pakistan

The Ministry of Interior has submitted a report to the Islamabad High Court on the request once morest the closure of social networking platform “X”. In which the application was requested to be dismissed at the initial stage. Apart from this, the Sindh and Peshawar High Courts also heard the Internet, X (Twitter) shutdown case.

The Ministry of Interior has submitted a report to the Islamabad High Court on the petition once morest the closure of social networking platform X.

The Ministry of Home Affairs requested that the petitioner should be dismissed at the initial stages as no fundamental right of the petitioner has been deprived.

According to the report, the application once morest the closure of X is contrary to law and facts, not admissible, X is not registered in Pakistan nor is it a party to the agreement to abide by Pakistani laws.

The Ministry of Interior said in the report that the orders of the Government of Pakistan regarding the misuse of the platform by X were not followed.
