The funeral of the late Egyptian artist Salah Al-Saadani was held on Friday at the police mosque in the town of Sheikh Zayed, west of the Egyptian capital, Cairo, amid a large presence of stars of art and sport and men from the community.

The funeral saw a large presence of Arab and local media and was attended by a large number of art stars, including: Ahmed Helmy, Mona Zaki, Ahmed Al-Sakka, Rami and Mohamed Imam, Rogina, Magdy Kamel, Ahmed Rizk , Mahmoud. Al-Bazawi, Hanadi Muhanna and captain Mahmoud Al-Khatib, president of the Egyptian club Al-Ahly.

Artist Ahmed Al-Saadani, the late artist’s son, appeared emotional as he carried his father’s body to pray over him inside the mosque, where he read the Quran with Ahmed Al-Sakka and Ahmed Rizk.

During the funeral of the body, artist Mohamed Adel Imam asked the media and photographers not to photograph his friend Ahmed Al-Saadani as he mourned his late father in the cemetery, asking them to leave the premises, while ‘Ahmed Al-Saadani also became emotional towards the photographers, but his friends controlled him and demanded that the photographers be satisfied, according to “Al-Youm Al-Sabea”.

Distinguished artist Salah Al-Saadani has died at the age of 81. The head of the Artists’ Union, Ashraf Zaki, announced, via his Instagram account, the death of Al-Saadani, commenting: “Survival belongs to God… the great artist Salah Al-Saadani has died.

The latest work by artist Salah Al-Saadani is the “Miners” series, produced in 2013, the events of which revolve around the marriage of minors, considered one of the most erroneous customs.
