Remembering Egyptian Artist Salah Al-Saadani: A Tribute to the Late Icon of Theater, Cinema, and Television

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN)– Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Artist Ashraf Zaki, head of the Acting Professions Union, announced on Friday the death of Egyptian artist Salah Al-Saadani, at the age of 81, following a long struggle once morest the disease, according to official Egyptian media, including the online portal of the Al-Ahram newspaper.

Artist Ashraf Zaki shared with his subscribers a photo of artist Salah Al-Saadani on his personal page on the photo site Instagram and commented on it saying: “God bless the great artist Salah Al-Saadani” .

Egyptian artist Ihab Fahmy also posted a photo of the late star on his Instagram account.

The late artist was absent from the media for many years and concluded his rich artistic career, which began in the 1960s, with the series “Les Mineurs”, broadcast during the 2013 Ramadan drama season.

He has played dozens of important roles in theater, cinema and television, including iconic roles, such as the character of Mayor Suleiman Ghanem, whom he played in 5 parts of the famous Egyptian series “Layali Al- Helmeya” and “Hassan Al-Namani” in “Arabesque”, in addition to the role of “Yassin” in the “Qasr Al-Shouq” series from the trilogy of the late Egyptian writer Naguib Mahfouz.

Among his important film roles are his roles in the films “Song on the Passage”, “The Time of Hatem Zahran” and others.
