The Ministry of Health has made a new call, which ends next Wednesday, to cover the 473 MIR places left vacant in the current call, 459 of them in the specialty of family and community medicine, which is more than double a year ago.

Finally, the process of allocating the 8,772 medicine places offered this year, which started on the 8th, ended this Friday with 75% of the places chosen by applicants, which this year reached 10,922.

In this way, the family specialty has left 459 vacant places, compared to the 202 that were left unallocated at the first announcement last year; The other two that have not managed to be used up are Preventive Medicine and Public Health, which leaves 12 vacancies, and Occupational Medicine, with 2. In this second call, the quota of non-EU citizens will be extended to 10% of the places offered, with the which occurs from 526 to 877, according to the information published by the Ministry of Health.

On Monday 1 April, the process for the allocation of the 11,607 FSE places started. The electronic selection of places starts on 1 April at 10.00 a.m. for nursing, pharmacy, biology, physics, psychology and chemistry, and on 5 April at 10.00 a.m. for the degree in medicine.

For the nursing and medicine degrees, the selection events will be conducted in three daily assessment sessions to which 300 applicants are invited per session, which represents a reduction of 100 people compared to last year’s call, in order to avoid problems with network collapse.

Applicants will submit an electronic application for a training place on the website of the Ministry of Health, and choose the places offered in the announcement. in order of preference, with a different time depending on the order.
