The Social Tourism program for 2024-2025 is expected to start soon, with the application platform opening in May.
THE Social tourism is a subsidy program for the accommodation of beneficiaries and their beneficiary members in tourist accommodations in Greece that participate in the program and are included in the “Register of Providers” of DOUBLE and for their ferry passage to them. Beneficiaries and their beneficiary members must hold a Social Tourism Voucher.
The program is drawn up by a relevant Public Employment Service issued every year, based on which, subsequently, a Public Invitation of the Public Employment Service is published with its detailed terms and conditions. The Public Invitation is posted on the DYPA website.
The program lasts 12 months. The specific start and end dates for this are set out in the Public Invitation.
Beneficiaries and providers of tourist accommodation submit an online application for participation on specific dates defined in the Public Call. Beneficiaries also declare their beneficiary members in their applications.
The program is expected to start from July 1, 2023 and will concern 300,000 checks with a total budget of 35,000,000 euros.
The check, with which the participation process is carried out, is a unique number for each beneficiary and each beneficiary separately. Beneficiaries-beneficiaries can spend up to 6 nights in a tourist accommodation they choose from the “Provider Register” of DYPA, following their direct consultation with the provider, with little private participation.
Subsidy prices are expected to remain 20% higher for the peak month of August. In addition, they are expected to increase by 20% during the Christmas and Easter periods.
According to newsit, in addition to accommodation in tourist accommodation, ferry tickets are also expected to be subsidised. The participation of the general category of beneficiaries amounts to 25% and those with many children to 20%. For people with disabilities, ferry tickets are available free of charge.
Beneficiaries are:
- employees with a dependent employment relationship under private law at the end of the deadline for submitting applications or
- insured with the eEFKA in their professional category with contributions in favor of the unemployment branch of the DYPA at any time between 01.01.2022 and the day before the deadline for submitting applications or
- unemployed with a continuous unemployment period of at least three months on the application deadline.
- The income of beneficiaries of all categories must not exceed 30,000 euros, unless they are long-term unemployed, who if single must have an income of up to 16,000 euros, up to 24,000 euros if married, plus 3,000 euros per child or if are single parents up to 27,000 euros, increased by 3,000 euros per child following the first.
Applications will be submitted exclusively online through the Unified Digital Portal of the Public Administration (gov.gr) with TAXISnet codes.
