Pumas wants play in

Peruvian Piero Quispe, Pumas’ star signing for Clausura 2024, scored his first goal in Liga MX and the university team beat León by the minimum, in one of the games with which the fifteenth round closed.

And the three points are worth a lot for the Pumas, who now have play-in qualification in their hands.

Quispe received a filtered pass from Rogelio Funes Mori to define before the departure of Rodolfo Cota. The goal, which fell in the 68th minute, came just five minutes following the expulsion of Alan Medina, which put 10 visitors on the field and determined the end of the game.

Universidad Nacional is ninth in the classification with 23 points, the same as Querétaro, tenth, but with a better goal difference.

In eleventh, out of the play in for the moment, León remained, with 20 units.

With two dates left to play, the Pumas still have the possibility of entering directly into the league (the first six get in) as they are just two points behind the one with the last ticket, Pachuca. The cats face the leader América next Saturday at Ciudad Universitaria as well.

León still has a chance, but they must win their next two games. The first once morest the tournament’s deputy leader, Rayados.

Sterile prize

In a duel between teams that no longer have a chance of making the play in, Atlas ended up beating Atlético de San Luis 2-1.

The red and white team took the lead with a goal from forward Franck Boli, but the red and black team tied and turned it around with a double from Carlos Robles.

With 13 points, both are out of any possibility of entering the final phase.
