Christoforos Trasai, one of the most improved players of this year’s NEP, was caught yesterday at noon immediately following the end of the training of the “dolphins” ahead of the “finals” with Aris that will determine promotion to the A1 National Team.
“Training on Sunday too?”, we asked the young regional and he smiled meaningfully, reminding us of the saying “hard work pays off”. The international pole vaulter seems to be in excellent condition and will be one of the main weapons in the quiver of NEP coach Makis Lykoudis and his partner Christos Argyropoulos in the series with Ari.
“On Thursday we have the first match of the series once morest Aris at our home base”, commented Christoforos Trasai and at the same time addressed a call to the native fans to support NEP’s effort from the stands: “We will need the support of the world to succeed to take the first step. Our goal is to qualify for the final which will give us the ticket for the big division, an important event for Patras, as following several years our city will have two teams in A1. We want the energy that our world will give us.”
We asked Christoforos Trasai to give us a comment regarding his own presence in this year’s A2 National Championship, which admittedly is impressive. “I try in every training session to be better and better and to be able to contribute wherever my coach and my team as a whole need me to achieve their goals,” emphasized the NEP international pole vaulter and added: “Any personal goals of an athlete are only achieved through the group. Each member of this group places his stone separately. That’s how I also contribute to this nice effort that is being made at the NEP”.
