For information the press service of “DTEK Energo”, in total, since the beginning of 2024, the miners of “DTEK Energo” have put 8 new benches into operation.
The increase in coal production is expected to make it possible to meet the fuel needs of thermal power plants during the summer peaks and build up reserves for the next heating season.
“We understand that already in the summer, and then during the next heating season, the work of our thermal power plants will be in great demand. The production of fuel for the needs of heat generation requires rhythm and consistency in all processes. The start-up of new beds is the basis for production, accordingly, reliable work thermal power plants, especially during consumption peaks,” said Ildar Saleev, CEO of DTEK Energo.
As “Ukrainian Energy” reported, in January-February 2024, the miners of “DTEK Energo” put 6 new benches into operation.
According to the results of 2023, DTEK Energo put 26 new coal mines into operation. The company’s investments in Ukrainian coal production amounted to regarding UAH 7 billion, which is almost twice as much as in 2022.
“DTEK Energo”, which is part of the DTEK Group, provides a closed cycle of electricity production from coal. The installed capacity in thermal electricity generation is 13.3 GW (as of January 2022). A complete production cycle has been created in coal mining: mining and beneficiation of coal, machine building and service maintenance of mine equipment.
100% of DTEK Group is owned by SCM Limited. The ultimate beneficiary is Rinat Akhmetov.
