The Israeli Ministry of Security said on Wednesday that the Rehabilitation Division for injured and disabled Israeli soldiers has received 7,209 cases since the beginning of the war on Gaza on October 7.

The Ministry stated in a statement that it is estimated that during the year 2024, approximately 8,000 new patients facing psychological crises will be accommodated in the Soldiers’ Rehabilitation Division.

She added, “The Rehabilitation Division for Injured Soldiers is preparing to accommodate 20,000 new casualties until the end of 2024, including 8,000 soldiers who have developed psychological crises such as panic, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, difficulties in adapting, difficulties in communication, psychological illnesses, and the like, and their number may rise to 10,000.”

The Ministry expected that the period between the Jewish Passover and the Day of Remembrance for Israeli soldiers killed in wars would be particularly sensitive for soldiers facing psychological crises, and “the possibility that their psychological crisis will intensify.”

For its part, the Israeli Ministry of Defense acknowledged on Wednesday that more than 7,000 soldiers had been injured since the start of the war on Gaza.

The Ministry’s Rehabilitation Division said, “7,209 injured people have been admitted to the rehabilitation ward since October 7, and regarding 30% of them showed various mental reactions.”

On the same level, the Israeli “Wala” website reported on Wednesday that Tel Aviv records 60 new disabled people daily due to the war on Gaza.
