The National Recording Registry inducts 25 new titles every year that are considered to be culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant in the realm of recorded sound heritage. In 2024, some of the notable entries include albums by ABBA, The Notorious B.I.G., Blondie, Green Day, and the Chicks. Additionally, iconic songs like Gene Autry’s rendition of “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and 1978’s “El Cantante” by Héctor Lavoe have made it onto the registry.
