Inter Miami needed a win on its visit to Sporting Kansas City, following an inauspicious streak of five unsuccessful games that included its elimination from the Concachampions at the hands of Monterrey of Mexico. And, with difficulty, he emerged victorious from a sometimes uphill development and settled, with one more game, at the top of Zone A of Major League Soccer.

The start of the first half was fertile ground for the local team, who seemed determined to attack Gerardo Martino’s team. And with that pressure so high it didn’t take long to cause the error of Marcelo Weigandt, who headed in when he shouldn’t have, delayed a delivery and allowed Tim Leibold to take the ball from him so that Erik Thommy ended up beating Drake Callender following five minutes from the right with a shot to the far post.
