Henrik Steigerwald was born in Offenbach near Frankfurt am Main, grew up in Erfurt and now lives back in Frankfurt am Main. During his school days he tried out instruments such as the guitar and the saxophone. At the age of 14 he finally ended up playing the electric bass and when he heard the low strings in action on the Red Hot Chili Peppers album “Stadion Arcadium”, it awakened in him the urge to form his own band. After several years of working in various other bands, the time had finally come in 2017: in his late twenties he decided to go by the name “henry and the waiter“To make music as a solo artist.
his first single was called “safe coast” and was released in 2017, followed by his first ep “higher“ in 2018. The single “ finally attracted greater attention.hidden spirit“ in 2020 – but also the single “little paradise“ did not go unnoticed. the single “released in 2021”up in her mind“was finally a harbinger for the mini album “sweet melancholy“. further singles and the second mini album “one eyed king“ followed in 2023. In any case: what do all his publications have in common? unusually high streaming numbers! Not only because there is a certain similarity to the music of “Milky Chance”, but because the world obviously needs his music.
