Taras Chmut on whether the Russian Federation can attack the capital again

Chmut noted that compared to 2022, Kyiv is “many times better” ready for an enemy attack. But the Russians are also “ready many times better”.

The director of one of the largest volunteer funds of Ukraine “Return Alive”, ATO veteran Taras Chmut shared his predictions regarding whether the Russians can attack Kyiv once more.

He said this in an interview “Ukrainian Pravda”.

“Is Kyiv ready now? Compared to 2022, Kyiv is many times better prepared. But the Russians can also be many times better prepared,” Chmut said.

The leader of “Return Alive” warned: if the Russians are going to attack Kyiv, then it will definitely not be “columns of the “Omon” or “Rosgvardiya”, which with shields to disperse protest actions are calmly moving towards the capital on trucks”, as the Russians originally planned in in 2022.

“If this happens, there can be a full-fledged combined offensive – everything, as the book says. Do I believe in an attack on Kyiv? I don’t know. Let’s start from the possible worst scenarios and better prepare for them. If the offensive does not happen – great, then , perhaps our preparation contributed to this. And if it happens, we will know that we did everything we might,” said the volunteer.

At the same time, Chmut noted that many people in Kyiv already think that Ukraine has already won the war, or have forgotten that the war is ongoing.

“And we must remember that it (the war) can return here (to Kyiv). We must not fall into the bubble of illusion in which Russia was before the start of the full-scale invasion.

After all, this led to its defeat at the first stage of a full-scale war. And to a large extent will lead, I very much hope, to a future defeat in the long term,” concluded Taras Chmut.

Earlier, the head of the Center for countering disinformation at the NSDC, Lieutenant Andriy Kovalenko, explained that Russia deliberately “throws in” to IPSO regarding the probable “offensive” of the occupiers on Kharkiv, Kherson, Sumy or Kyiv.

We will remind you that President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said in an interview with CBS that the occupation army of Russia is preparing a new offensive already in May-June. When and where it may start and whether there is a threat to Kyiv and Kharkiv – read HERE.
