The veteran NFL star and actor, who was tried for the double murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her boyfriend, Ron Goldman, in the 1990s, and eventually acquitted, had been battling serious illness in recent years .
His two children have so far not spoken publicly regarding their mother’s murder and their famous father’s guilt. Cindy is currently 38 years old and Justin is 35 and they stay out of the public eye.
Orenthal James Simpson was born in San Francisco and became one of the most famous and beloved athletes of his time.
He won the Heisman Trophy while attending USC, then played successfully for the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills.
But his athletic prowess ran alongside a burgeoning acting and media career that made him a huge American celebrity.
While still at USC, he appeared in the Medical Center and went on to appear in films such as The Klansman, The Cassandra Crossing and The Towering Inferno, as well as the miniseries Roots, – all while still being a professional athlete. After retiring from his beloved sport, he starred in three Naked Gun comedies.
