DURING the Eid al-Fitr celebration, the relationship between General Chair of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Megawati Soekarno Putri and President Joko Widodo is no longer the same. It was truly thought that their relationship as relatives and political colleagues would fail and end.
Political observer Ujang Komarudin believes that relationships that Megawati thinks have ended will usually really end and there will be no more doors open for the person who has hurt her. Ujang also gave an example of the relationship between Megawati and Soesilo Bambang Yudhoyoni (SBY) which has not improved to date.
“Because Megawati seems hurt, hurt by Jokowi because he doesn’t support PDIP, doesn’t support Ganjar-Mahfud MD who is supported by Megawati. So in that context, we see that currently, the dynamics of the relationship have tapered off and they are divorced, they have broken up. “So it’s a bit difficult to put it back together,” said Ujang to Indonesian MediaThursday (11/4).
“We have the experience of this nation, the relationship between Megawati and SBY. We know it tapered off in 2004, we also know that in 2029 the relationship was never good. “It never knits back together, it’s never good,” he added.
He assumed that the divorced relationship between Megawati and Jokowi would never be reconciled, just like the relationship between SBY and Megawati. Moreover, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto previously issued an implied statement that Jokowi was no longer considered part of Megawati’s relatives. So, it is clear that Megawati and Jokowi will never reunite.
“I saw that it had completely broken up. I saw that the relationship had broken up, it had been divorced. As in the past, the relationship between SBY and Mega was never united, never close until now, there have been five elections. “In the current context, the relationship between Jokowi and Megawai, who have not yet met, have not yet been in touch, this really is a sign that the relationship is already acute, it has become anticlimactic, this relationship can no longer be expressed in words, that the relationship has indeed ended between Megawati and Jokowi,” he concluded.
