He is 65 years old and has been the mayor of Białystok since 2006. When provincial governments were established, he headed the regional policy department at the Marshal’s Office in Białystok.

He ran in these elections with the slogan “Modern Białystok in democratic Poland”. In his opinion, the biggest challenge for the city today is to take advantage of the opportunity related to stabilizing the local government financing system; the goal is to retain young, talented residents with an attractive employment offer.

After years of draining local government budgets, there is finally a chance to improve our financial situation. Due to decisions and tax changes introduced by PiS, Białystok lost almost PLN 600 million. We had to give up many investments, others had to be postponed until better times. I am convinced that this time has come – he said.

In his opinion, in order for Białystok to take another development step, it is necessary to develop the Krywlany airport, expand it and launch passenger connections. Currently, there is a runway there, but its full length cannot be used. Tadeusz Truskolaski believes that the development of Krywlany also makes economic sense and will help keep young, talented residents in Białystok, for whom investors might create attractive jobs.

His first decision following being sworn in for the next term is to restore night public transport, suspended three years ago due to the pandemic. He considers the construction of a sports and entertainment hall with a capacity of nearly 6.5 thousand to be a key investment. places; there is no such facility in Białystok.

His passions include sports and recreation. In winter he skis and skates, in summer he rides a bike, swims and plays tennis and table tennis. He is married and has two children, a son and a daughter. Son Krzysztof is a Member of Parliament and leader of the Civic Coalition in Podlasie.
