British police officers who thought that the siren of a patrol car was missing in the police station parking lot were completely amazed to discover that it was instead a bird that had learned to imitate the sound.

“It’s so specific that the police thought the car sirens were faulty!” Thames Valley Police reacted on Wednesday, sharing the imitation on Facebook.

The situation seemed so unbelievable to officers at the Bicester traffic police base, north-east London, that they reportedly felt compelled to introduce the video with a promise it was not a joke April Fool’s Day late.

“This is 100% real and NOT an April Fool’s joke! hammered the police force. Officers at our police base were left a little confused this week, following discovering that one of their resident birds had learned to imitate the sound of a police siren!”

It was by hearing the sirens that he learned to recapture its rhythm and strength, to recreate it in a convincing way.

While British police did not specify the exact species of bird that appears in the video that went viral, other species had already made headlines for their convincing imitations of objects.

Footage from a 1998 BBC documentary on the lyrebird demonstrated the ability of these Australian birds to imitate the sounds of other animals, as well as other noises heard. in the forest, like the click of a camera, the alarm of a car or the sound of a chainsaw.
