It seems that InPost is planning to develop a network of refrigerators in our country. At least this is the result of the company’s latest move, which has placed vending machines in ten additional cities. This is one of the largest investments of this type in recent years, so we can hope that the Polish company wants to take the issue of sending refrigerated products seriously. Does this even make more sense?
InPost wants you to order things for refrigerators
Fridge lockers debuted in 2018 and were initially available in only four Polish cities. During this time, the network of these machines did not develop much, InPost was probably busy with something else. However, everything indicates that the perfect moment for these refrigeration equipment is slowly approaching. They started to appear in more places and there is no indication that the trend will change.
The development of the InPost Fresh program is progressing. Recent months have seen a dynamic increase in the number of refrigerators that we can already find in… 14 cities in Poland. The editorial office of the Commercial News portal contacted the company’s spokesperson to obtain more information regarding plans for the near future. Unfortunately, no specific answers were obtained, although there is clearly something to it. What exactly can we expect?
The company’s representative indicated that he would not comment further on this topic at this time. The only comment received is that indicating continuous testing of a range of various solutions. However, it is difficult to ignore the actual state of affairs – at least one refrigerator was installed in Białystok, Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, Katowice, Lublin, Poznań, Rzeszów, Szczecin and Toruń. Previously, these places did not offer refrigeration service.

Does this plan have a chance of success?
Currently, in our country we can find approximately 109 refrigerators, which is still quite little – especially if we take into account over 22,000. Parcel lockers scattered all over Poland. However, it seems that InPost wants to expand its offer, as there has been no such expansion for at least several years. We can only hope that the coming months will bring developments in this matter.
However, refrigerators are a long-term project that needs to be familiarized to consumers from the very beginning. They are not entirely accustomed to conveniently ordering fresh products online – expanding the offer of refrigeration devices will change this state of affairs. However, this will take at least several years, if at all.
