President Joko Widodo conducted a direct inspection of the Eid homecoming flow at Pasar Senen Station, Jakarta, on Monday (8/4). During his visit, the President directly checked the readiness of the infrastructure and the well-monitored homecoming implementation.
“I saw that everything was neatly and well managed, including on the train there was no crowding, everything was fine at Pasar Senen Station,” said Jokowi.
Also accompanying the President in the review were Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono, and Main Director of KAI Didiek Hartantyo.
Didiek stated that currently Pasar Senen Station is still busy with potential passengers but the situation remains under control. On Monday (8/4) at 08.00 WIB, there were 20,636 passengers departing from Pasar Senen Station, while the number of passengers arriving at the station was 9,048 passengers.
Apart from that, based on data monitoring on Monday (8/4) at 08.00, long distance train tickets sold for the period D-10 (31 March) to D+10 (21 April) reached 2,788,987 tickets. KAI asks all customers to allocate sufficient time for travel to the departure station to avoid the possibility of missing the train.
In the context of increasing traffic density during the Eid homecoming, KAI reminds customers to continue choosing trains as a mode of transportation to return to their hometowns. Didiek emphasized that all KAI employees are not allowed to take annual leave during the Eid transport period, as management’s commitment to serving customers optimally during peak season.
“KAI is committed to continuing to provide the best service to customers, especially during the Eid transport period, by guaranteeing the safety and comfort of an unforgettable trip. We hope that trains will become the main choice for a pleasant and meaningful homecoming trip,” concluded Didiek. (RO/Z-10)
