Hope for UDF in Thrissur too. Manoramanews-VMR pre-poll survey says that K.Muralidharan will be ahead of Suresh Gopi by 5.92 percent votes. It is a tough fight for second place. K. Muralidharan is predicted to get 36.51 percent votes while Suresh Gopi will get 30.59 percent votes and CPI’s VS Sunilkumar 30.53 percent votes, according to the survey results. The possibility that such a tough fight will influence the final result cannot be ruled out.
The UDF vote is expected to decrease by 3.32 percent and the LDF vote by 0.31 percent compared to 2019, while the NDA is expected to increase its vote by 2.4 percent. Suresh Gopi’s personal influence is behind this. 1.23 percent vote increase for other parties is also important.
UDF was worried in 2019 when Suresh Gopi threatened to ‘take Thrissur’ but TN Prathapan took Thrissur with a good majority. Pratapan defeated CPI’s Rajaji Mathew Thomas in the maiden election to the Lok Sabha by a margin of 93,633 votes. Suresh Gopi came third with 2,93,822 votes. The difference in votes between LDF and BJP was only 2.66 percent.
