The General Council of ADEDY, decided on a new 24-hour all-employee strike mobilization on May 21, 2024.
As noted in a related announcement, following the successful strike mobilization of February 28, ADEDY decided to continue the fight ” once morest the precision and the economic impoverishment of workers by the government’s policy and calls on all public sector workers to take part in it en masse ».
Among other things, ADEDY points out that, 14 years following the memoranda, “where salaries were reduced by 40%, gifts were abolished, the 2% solidarity levy was imposed, the 2016-2017 biennium was frozen and the tax-free was reduced, the government provokes with the crumb of its income policy and leads public employees to poverty and impoverishment”.
“On the 21st of May we continue the struggle with a new strike and demand a life with rights, a job with real increases and not mock increases of 1.5 euros per day and substantial measures to deal with punctuality” says ADEDY.
In this context, it claims the following:
“- Horizontal increase of 10% in the salaries of the employees in the State, in order to deal elementary with accuracy and inflation.
- Reset here and now of the Gifts.
- Collective agreements on wages.
- Abolition of the wage freeze for the two years 2016-2017.
- Abolition of the 2% unemployment levy.
- Increase of the tax-free allowance to 12,000 euros.
- Increase in unhealthy work allowance.
- “Immediate staffing with permanent employees of all critical public bodies (health, education, social services, insurance, etc.) and upgrading of all necessary infrastructure”.
