The Government of Hidalgo continues to generate actions to attract the attention of global companies so that they know the advantages of the state to focus their investments there.
The social and economic growth of the state continues to be a priority for the state government, therefore, it implements high-impact activities to energize both environments through rapprochement with large companies.
In this context, following a fruitful working meeting between the authorities of the Government of the State of Hidalgo and directors of the electronic commerce giant Mercado Libre, the Governor, Julio Menchaca Salazar, highlighted the logistical and competitive advantages that Hidalgo offers for its projects.
“The government has worked closely with companies of global relevance that are making important investments for their growth in Mexico and in the government of Hidalgo we want to show the great attractions we have so that part of this financial commitment has an impact on our people and our economic environment. We are a state that can be trusted,” said Carlos Henkel, Secretary of Economic Development of the State.
Mercado Libre is the leading electronic commerce company in Latin America and today more than 414 thousand families receive their main income through the activity carried out in this marketplace. It also currently has more than 90 logistics points in the country and with which it optimizes the distribution and delivery process of thousands and thousands of packages throughout the Mexican Republic.
Recently, Mercado Libre announced an investment of $2.45 billion for Mexico in 2024, which, among other things, will be used to continue growing its logistics operation in different parts of the country.
“The Mercado Libre ecosystem transforms the lives of millions of people through the democratization of commerce and financial services and the 12,000 employees who are part of the company in Mexico are very proud to positively impact the lives of so many families in the country,” said Alehira Orozco, the company’s Director of Government Relations.
The State of Hidalgo has great geographical, operational and talent benefits, which generates potential environments for growth and enabling high-impact projects for the State.
